Basic Skills description
The Basic Skills course is intended to introduce the student to the PC, the Windows operating system, the mouse, the internet, email and the basics of word processing. In addition "safe computing" practices are stressed throught the program. Extensive use of the internet is made during the class as assignments are distributed by email and internet. The core goal is to give the sudent a high level of comfort and confidence with the computing environment.
As an outreach program of the Marist Missionary Sisters of the North American Province, this program also offers parents and grand-parents the opportunity to better understand, and make proper use of this new technology which affects them and their children today.
