Sr. CATIA CONTERNO, SMSM, Director

Sr. Catia Conterno has been a Marist Missionary Sister for over 25 years. She has served their missions in Peru and Colombia, as well as within the USA.

She received her BA in Religious Sciences in Lima, Peru and her MA in Cross-Cultural Theology and Pastoral Ministry from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL.

In the US, she has worked as Director of the Bilingual Catechetical Programs at St. Mary’s Parish in Lawrence, MA and as Executive Director of the Marist Volunteer Program, a program run by the four USA branches of the Marist Society.

Sr. Janet Veno, SMSM, Assistant Director

Sr. Janet is a graduate of Regis College, Weston, MA with a major in Foods and Nutrition. She has been a Marist Missionary sister for 45 years and has served 24 years in Peru, South America as a primary school teacher and principal, a parish minister developing local lay leadership in two different dioceses.

Being legally blind since 1992, she worked in parish ministries in South Texas and Lawrence, MA and volunteered with a local agency helping victims of domestic violence and now serves as the assistant of the SKILLS FOR LIFE .

In her own words, "I enjoy my work here at Skills For Life welcoming people of all different cultures, ages and backgrounds. Knowing the importance of new technologies, I feel privileged to welcome those who wish to become familiar with computer and the world view they open to us."

Bill Wade, Instructor

Bill holds a BS in Physics from Umass Lowell and a MS in Engineering from Northeastern University.

He worked in the electronics industry for 40 years where he developed his computer skills. His background includes writing programs to run manufacturing and test processes as well as writing countless test procedurees and instruction manuals.

He developed the current internet centered ciriculum for the Skills For Life Program as well as the Marist Skills For Life Web Site.
