Sister Mary Carol was born on August 27, 1923 in New York City.  Sister was raised in a strong Catholic background. The thought of embracing religious life became strong at the very tender age of 13. As this attraction grew stronger, she applied for entrance into the Novitiate and was accepted. On August 14, 1946, she entered as a Novice, followed by her Religious Profession August 15, 1948. After her Profession, Sister became a student at St. Joseph’s College, Portland ME, where she received her Teaching Certificate in 1950.

She received her mission assignment to Samoa on Dec. 24, 1950, arriving in Savalalo in January 1951. While in Samoa, she taught in mission stations of both American and Western Samoa. She returned in 1964 to the USA for Spiritual Renewal and her Second Novitiate in Bedford, MA. Upon her return to Samoa in 1965, she continued to minister in education. Sr. Mary Carol was appointed as Regional Councilor prior to returning to the USA in 1981.   From September 1984 to April 1985, she participated at a spiritual renewal program in Dover, MA.  Ever ready to be “sent and sent again” she gladly accepted to be missioned, to Georgia, TN where she ministered to the elderly and homebound.

In 1993, she was elected as a delegate to the Provincial Chapter. From 1993 to 2000, she spent time giving service especially at 62 Newton St. community, as a Team Member. In addition, Sr. M. Carol helped as Secretary to the “Skills for Life” program. In 2001, she retired and moved to St. Mary’s Apartments living there from 2001 to 2005. Today, in 2008, she continues to give whatever her health will allow, in the community and to our Sisters at Maristhill Nursing Home
